Who are we?

The Platform comes in September 2015 from the collective consciousness about the current humanitarian crisis and the need for many citizens to actively help safeguard the fundamental rights of those who are forced to leave their countries of origin due to violence and persecution.

We claim compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948 and the 1951 Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 New York Protocol, which recognize the right to asylum for all persons who meet the requirements . In Spain the right is regulated through the Law of Asylum 12/2009, which has not yet been developed for its efficient application.

We are convinced that citizens can take an active part in the achievement of rights recognized to refugees in our Constitution and International Treaties, such as the right to psychological and health care, housing, social benefits, free legal advice and interpreters for asylum application, job oportunities, and the right not to be deported to their countries.

Most of all, we believe that citizen support is central to the social integration of refugees, not only as a right but also as the result of the solidarity of a country.
